Industry Moves Roundup: Sonos; Dow Jones Online; Warner Bros.; Valleywag; Crayon/Digitas

Sonos: Digital streaming system developer Sonos has tapped former Sony executive Phil Abram as president and COO. Most recently, he served as VP and senior GM in Sony’s TV products division. Before Sony, Abram held executive positions at Sharp Electronics and Eastman Kodak. Fresh from a $6 million second round financing, Sonos, which markets a system that lets users control their digital music throughout their home, brought Abram on to lead its global expansion plans. Dow Jones Online:  Raanan Bar-Cohen has left his post as director of product strategy at Dow Jones Online to become VP of Media Services at Automattic, the blogging services company behind WordPress. Bar-Cohen worked on a number of product initiatives at DJO, including the launch of media/tech blog AllThingsD.

Warner Bros.:  Digital media and kids programming veteran Lisa Judson has been named president of Warner Bros. Animation. She replaces Sander Schwartz, who left that job to spearhead broadband production work for the cartoon division. Judson’s hiring comes as Warner Bros. looks to expand its stable of famous cartoon characters beyond traditional production to broadband and other new media. Judson moves over from TW sibling AOL, where she most recently held the post of SVP-marketing. She’s also held a variety of executive posts at Nickelodeon. In her new role, Judson will be responsible for expanding the animation unit’s original production for new media and broadband platforms. (Via Variety)

Valleywag: Business 2.0’s online editor Owen Thomas is jumping ship to edit Valleywag, which has been looking for someone to fill the slot for a while. Nick Denton, the publisher of the site’s parent, Gawker Media, had been handling the editing chores. Before serving as online editor, Thomas had been the magazine’s chief of reporters. He previously held posts at Red Herring and Time Digital and has written for Mother Jones, Suck.com and Wired magazine. (Via GigaOm)

Crayon: Greg Verdino, VP/director of Emerging Channels at Digitas, is leaving the Publicis Groupe interactive shop to join new media marketing start-up Crayon. Before his stint at Digitas, Verdino served a year as SVP at broadband video syndicator ROO. Crayon was conceived as a marketing agency that can help brands navigate emerging channels like virtual worlds. (Via Adweek)
