Updated: You’re reading it here first… online vet Michael Silberman is leaving Rodale Interactive, where he was VP and editorial director, to become GM of New York magazine’s nymag.com.  He’ll be responsible for strategic planning for the site, revamped in 2006 and now averaging more than 2.3 million uniques a month. Silberman was at MSNBC.com in the beginning and for 10 years. He succeeds David Evans, who left earlier this year to become SVP- Rainbow Broadband. 

NBC News: One minute Mark Whitaker is launching new online enterprise Sprig for the Washington Post Company, the next he’s SVP of NBC News. Whitaker joins the network May 21 as second-in-command to NBC News president Steve Capus. He will oversee NBC News’ daily editorial and newsgathering efforts worldwide; provide continuity between newsgathering operations, individual broadcasts and new media; be responsible for NBC News division-wide editorial specials; and will help develop online content for MSNBC.com. Whitaker was editor of Newsweek for nearly a decade, then moved to Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive as VP and editor-in-chief for new ventures.
