Industry Moves: Skype; AOL; NBCU

Skype: Skype has tapped former Motorola exec Scott Durchslag as its COO, a new post reporting to recently appointed president Josh Silverman. Durchslag brings 20 years of experience from Fortune 100 tech corporations and start-ups and was most recently corporate VP-global product and experience invention for Motorola (NYSE: MOT). Release.

AOL: Platform-A (NYSE: TWX) has added two execs to its Midwest team and promoted a third in Detroit. Platform-A’s Midwest team will be led by Rick Simmons, as VP-sales. He moves over to Platform-A after three years at AOL Media Networks. Tina Ienna has been promoted to regional VP in charge of Platform-A’s Detroit office while former Yahoo sales exec Craig Schumacher is Chicago regional sales director. Release.

NBCU: NBCU is promoting Sci-Fi Schannel marketing exec Adam Stosky to president of NBC entertainment marketing, reports Ad Age. Reporting to CMO of the TV group John Miller, Stotsky will oversee promotion of the network’s programs. He had been EVP-global brand strategy and market development for the Sci-Fi Channel. Before joining Sci-Fi in 2001, Stotsky served as SVP of the entertainment practice for WPP Group’s JWT.

—Jennifer Turner joins in the new role of VP-Licensing and Strategic Partnerships for Bravo Media and Oxygen Media, reporting to Lauren Zalaznick, president, NBCU Women and Lifestyle Entertainment Networks. Turner most recently was VP-Drama Programming at Universal Media Studios, responsible for developing new drama series. In this post, her responsibilities include “creating revenue-generating opportunities” and working closely with across Bravo and Oxygen to partnership and branding opportunities. Release.

—At Universal Pictures, Stan Scoggins has been upped to SVP-worldwide digital asset management for the studio’s creative services group, according to Variety. Having been in charge of the division since 1998, he developed Solar, the company’s online publicity and ad materials repository for its film and TV titles. Scoggins will continue to report to Dan Wolfe, EVP-worldwide creative operations.
