imageMySpace vet Jamie Kantrowitz is shifting to MySpace Music, moving literally from London to New York as SVP of strategy and global marketing. Kantrowitz most recently has been SVP of international marketing and content for MySpace, where she was involved in the social net’s expansion into 30 international territories. That followed two years as VP of marketing and content that included responsibility for marketing music. That blend of experience should come in handy; this time around Kantrowitz will responsible for spearheading the international expansion of MySpace Music, a partnership of MySpace and the major labels, from a strategic marketing perspective. She will also oversee content partnerships, artist and label relations.

Update: In an internal memo we’ve obtained, MySpace CEO Chris DeWolfe also announced Jay Stevens has been promoted to SVP-audience with a renewed emphasis on recruitment and retention, responsible for leading “the global charge to enhance and re-engage the MySpace community online” and for “managing a cross functional team of product, technical, marketing and analytics leads.  Within this new, extended role, Jay will continue to focus on maintaining and building audience acquisition, retaining our existing users, and reactivating lapsed users.” DeWolfe doesn’t mention just how important this particular job is now with Facebook’s accelerating numbers.
