Industry Moves: Yahoo Appoints New CTO
Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), which just announced its Q407 earnings, has filled its CTO position, vacant after Farzad Nazem left in June last year.: it has appointed Aristotle “Ari” Balogh, former CTO at Verisign, as its new CTO. He will be based at Yahoo HQs in Sunnyvale. The company-speak on his priorities: “He will be responsible for company-wide product development which includes optimizing resources, speeding innovation…focus on establishing a common architecture and building blocks to drive development…All of Yahoo’s engineering functions, including technical operations, infrastructure, and internal IT support groups, will report into Balogh.” Balogh was at Verisign for 10 years.
