Industry Moves: Yahoo’s Head Of Video Departs; THQ’s EVP Of Publishing Leaves, Too
—Yahoo: The brain drain continues. Satish Menon, VP of Yahoo’s Consumer Platforms Group is leaving; he tells NewTeeVee that he will focus on applying his broadband video expertise to the online education industry. (Menon co-founded IPTV and VOD firm Kasenna prior to joining Yahoo in 2006). The Consumer Platforms Group covers online video infrastructure, software and advertising; NewTeeVee says the team was hit particularly hard during Yahoo’s latest round of layoffs.
—THQ: Scott Guthrie, the game company’s EVP of publishing has resigned to “pursue another opportunity” immediately. Guthrie’s exit follows the appointment of THQ’s new CFO in February; no word on who the company is eying as his replacement. Release.
