Industry Moves: Yahoo’s Mitgang Replaces Founder Shapiro As Veoh CEO
Veoh founder Dmitry Shapiro is being replaced as CEO by Steve Mitgang, most recently an SVP at Yahoo’s global team where he managed the portal’s advertising efforts, including Panama. Shapiro started Veoh three years ago. He will remain with the online TV service as chief innovation officer. The move is all about advertising; Mitgang told the LAT his job would be to create a one-stop shop for advertisers seeking to connect with viewers of online video. Mitgang joined Yahoo when it bought commercial search engine Overture Services. He was previously CEO and president of Keylime Software, a web analytics company that was acquired by Overture.
In addition to Mitgang, Veoh also named Sirius Satellite Radio marketing VP Jennifer Betka to the post of SVP, marketing. (via
