Job Search Site RiseSmart Raises $1.5 Million Seed Round

Dallas, TX-based RiseSmart, a job search site targeting +$100k jobs, has raised a $1.5 million seed round from various angels. Among the investors are Craig Stamm, former CFO of CareerBuilder and Headhunter.net, Mark Hamden of HRSmart and Louis Ramery, SVP of Sears Holding. The company describes itself as a hybrid between a traditional job board and a concierge or headhunter service, as individuals are assigned to help out job searchers. By targeting these premium earners, RiseSmart is a competitor to established NYC-based site TheLadders. Release.

I tried this Risesmart service and it sucks. It is totally worthless.

They just raised another $3 million,  are adding lots of new customers, and are signing Fortune 500 clients for their corporate outplacement offering.  So they’re obviously doing something right.
