Jon Miller On MySpace’s Future And Google Controversy

Yesterday at the Monaco Media Forum I interviewed Jon Miller, the head of News Corp (NYSE: NWS) Digital, on stage. Below is the full video of it. I grilled him on MySpace’s future, the future of Google’s search deal, on Murdoch’s half-incoherent statements about Google (NSDQ: GOOG) (and the resulting media paroxysm about it), the news consortium that the company is putting together and progress of it, Hulu and how it fits in if/when Comcast (NSDQ: CMCSA) buys NBCU, working for a media conglomerate vs a media mogul, and other interesting issues.

Interesting how Miller’s remarks about supposedly blocking off Google is reverberating in other news sources, when he really didn’t say much beyond the fact that they are ready to take some steps in the next few months or quarters. But then, who cares about facts, when the interpretation is much more interesting, right?

(Note: We’re aware of a syncing problem with the audio and video here, and are trying to get it fixed. In the meantime, here’s an mp3)
