Landmark Sells Off TotalVid To Zipidee

Landmark Communications, the parent of media brands such as Weather Channel, has sold off its online video download site TotalVid, to digital good marketplace company Zipidee. Zipidee gains enthusiast topic-focused videos, like extreme sports and others, and helps build its mid- to long-tail instructional, educational, and special interest premium content library. TotalVid will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Zipidee, and financial details of the acquisition were undisclosed. Zipidee will continue the current subscription model pricing for existing customers of TotalVid.com.

Zipidee has raised an unknown amount of funding from Novus Ventures, Individuals’ Venture Fund and Khalda Development.
