Local.com Acquires Local Biz Directory Service PremierGuide For $2 Million

Irvine, CA-based business local search and directory site Local.com has bought PremierGuide, a Bellevue, WA-based provider of online business directories to regional media publishers such as newspapers, TV and radio stations, and city portals. PremierGuide was founded in 2003, and had approximate revenues of $800K in the last 12 months. Its network includes sites from GateHouse Media, and Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive.

Hearst recently sold off its $6 million stake in Local.com. The company has been in news recently for its mobile local search patents and some controversies surrounding the defensibility of those patents. Details in release.
