MashLogic has raised $500,000 in an angel round from investors including About.com founder Scott Kurnit, Wikia CEO Gil Penchina and Bessemer Venture Partners. Kurnit—who is talking at our EconAffinity conference in New York City this morning—will join the company’s board. MashLogic offers an add-on for Firefox and Internet Explorer that lets users see additional content from third-party sites while surfing the web. For instance, if a user selects Wikipedia as a site that they are interested in, hovering over a proper name on a web page might surface a pop up with the Wikipedia entry for that individual. Release via peHub.
