Updated: the actual total funding for this round is $5 million, not $2 million as reported before. British Columbia Discovery Fund invested $1.5 million, Rho Canada invested another $2 million, who led the round. With MovieSet’s solution, Fans can track each film’s progress from green-light to delivery through a social networking environment layered over a film production content management and workflow system. Movieset, a site for film producers to post behind-the-scenes footage, has raised $2 million from Rho Capital, according to NewTeeVee. The Vancouver, Canada-based site houses outtakes and the like—items that usually whet fans’ appetites as extras on a DVD. The company hopes to take advantage of film marketing budgets migrating towards online.
