MSN’s Soapbox Reopens To Public With Filtering Installed
Soapbox on MSN Video should reopen to the public sometime this afternoon complete with content filtering provided by Audible Magic. The beta user-gen video site was closed to new users in March to implement and test proactive filtering following Microsoft statements about willingness to work with content owners to provide copyright protection. The move to filtering was a policy change for the site, which launched with the idea that takedown notices would be enough. According to a spokeswoman, the service now has automatic filtering tools and automated tools for content owners to find and remove their copyrighted content.

Irony alert: I can’t see it right now because the SonicWall filter being used by Panera says it’s a “forbidden category.”
Update: I’ve escaped from SonicWall and can tell that it’s up and running.
