MTVN’s Logo Acquires LGBT Social Net DowneLink.com
MTVN’s Logo (NYSE: VIA) has added another community to its federation of affiliated sites catering to the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) niche with an agreement to acquire multicultural social net DowneLink.com. Founded in 2004 by Danny Nguyen, Michael Abraham and Ronaldo Mabagos, Downlinke claims 400,000-plus members—about 72 percent African-American, Asian or Latino/a and a gender split that’s roughly even with key demos of 18-25. The announcement doesn’t include terms and says the deal is subject to the usual closing requirements but MTVN’s copyright is already on the site.
