MTV has reorganized the heads of its Integrated Marketing Group with the return of MySpace (NSDQ: NWS) sales executive Angela Courtin to the Viacom (NYSE: VIA) company. Courtin will serve as SVP, MTV Integrated Marketing. In conjunction with the new hire, MTV also promoted Jeannie Scalzo to SVP, MTV Integrated Marketing, alongside Courtin. As co-leads of the group, Courtin and Scalzo will oversee all marketing integrations across MTV’s suite of brands, including the flagship channels and related websites, as well as MTVu and MTV Mobile.

Courtin will oversee MTV’s regional efforts for Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit. Scalzo, a 20-year MTV vet, will hold a hybrid role with responsibility for the East Coast Integrated Marketing team in addition to her current post as General Sales Manager. Courtin will be based in Los Angeles and Scalzo will continue to be based at MTV headquarters in New York. Both will report to Stephen Friedman, MTV’s General Manager, and Dan Lovinger, Senior Vice President, MTV Sales and Integrated Marketing.

Courtin left MySpace in May after than two years, serving as SVP for marketing, entertainment and content at the News Corp. social net. Just before that, she was a VP in MTV’s Integrated Marketing Group for two-and-a-half years.

While not as high profile as the recent departure of Jason Hirschorn as co-president, the loss of Courtin to MTV must smart a bit.

There have been some defections the other way the past few months between MySpace and MTV, especially as the social net has been trying to position itself as more of an entertainment and content company. Late last year, MTV lost two influential digital execs to MySpace when Jason Witt left his post as GM of MTVN’s Digital Fusion and followed colleague Nada Stirratt out the door. Witt became an SVP at MySpace and Stirratt, who was EVP, Digital Advertising Sales, became the social net’s chief revenue officer.

Update: MySpace replaced Courtin in May with David Donegan, who was previously with Kastner & Partners Interactive.
