The National Association of Broadcasters is stepping up its fight against the use of “white space” spectrum for internet delivery, as advocated by Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) and Google (NSDQ: GOOG) (among others).  Along with the the Association for Maximum Service Television, a lobbying group representing broadcast interests, and representatives from various sports leagues and TV manufacturers, the NAB plans to take its case to the DC media.  The group’s viewpoint, that existing devices for white space internet don’t do enough to prevent interference with television broadcasts, is currently shared by the FCC.  The commission recently ruled against the white space plans, noting the potential for interference, a ruling that Microsoft vowed to reverse.  The company claims that the FCC’s test was done on faulty equipment, but that other tests done at the same time showed it can work.
