National Lampoon Acquires Photo Sharing Site ZingFu.com

imageNational Lampoon’s acquisition binge continues, as the comedy site has bought photo sharing site ZingFu.com. Terms were not disclosed. ZingFu lets users place “funny” scenes and thought-bubbles—or “zings,” as the site calls them—on their photos and turn them into widgets. The site has been around for three years. National Lampoon, which bought AllModelZone.com last month following a string of three other purchases, believes that ZingFu can serve as a tool to attract more ad dollars, especially for those interested in creating more viral types of campaigns. Most importantly, National Lampoon CEO Daniel Laikin says ZingFu has an existing user base that is in the millions, which the comedy site hopes to draw in as well. Release
