NetStreams Raises $18.2 Million Second Round For IP Media Networking

Austin, TX-based NetStreams, which offers users an advanced platform for managing their home entertainment, has raised an $18.2 million second round from Austin Ventures, which backed the company in its unspecified first round in 2004. The company sells systems that allow users to manage all of their audio and visual media over an in-home IP-based network. In the past, the company has mainly gone after high-end residences, though it’s expanding to commercial locations, such as conference rooms and hotels. It also intends to use the funding to expand internationally. By using IP standards to do home entertainment networking, users can sync the entertainment system with other networks, such as lighting and security. Release.
