Nokeena, a developer of technology for facilitating online video, has raised an initial $8.7 million round from Clearstone and Trinity Ventures, the company told The Deal. The company’s technology is designed to better distribute and store online video, helping to eliminate video stops and reduce network congestion. Nokeena is still pretty quiet on what it’s doing, though it says it will have a commercial product next year targeting CDNs, video content aggregators, original video providers and media companies.
