Oberon Media To Acquire iTV Games Provider PixelPlay

Oberon Media, the New York City-based online and mobile casual games provider, is buying PixelPlay, the interactive TV games producer. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

This follows Oberon’s acquisition of mobile gaming player I-Play earlier this year, and now the company says it is distributing to 350 wireless carriers and online providers including Microsoft, Comcast, Yahoo Games, Verizon, Electronic Arts, AOL Games, and others. PixelPlay’s iTV games portfolio is has games and lincenses from Hasbro, Atari, and others.

Oberon was founded in 2003 and is backed by big money from Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Oak Investment Partners and Lehman Brothers. More details in release.
