Online Financial Researcher The Markets.com Closes $30 Million Investment

TheMarkets.com, a site that provides research for institutional investors, has closed on a $30 million investment designed to help it expand its operations to match what it said was a growing demand for its services. In particular, the New York-based company claims that its main research product has garnered triple-digit annual growth for the past four years. The company received the financing from the 11 investment banking/financial information firms that own it, including Morgan Stanley, which was one of the five backers that led the round. The other 10 owners are Reuters, Merrill Lynch,  Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Banc of America, Lehman Brothers, UBS, Credit Suisse and Dresdner Kleinwort. Release
