Online market research, intelligence and brand monitoring firm Filtrbox has received $1.4 million in its first round of funding, from Flywheel Ventures and True Ventures. The funding was closed at the end of last year, reports TC. The Boulder, CO-based company, founded in summer last year, says it monitors thousands of content sources, including social media services like blogs, Twitter, and others, and filters through messages related to its clients. It is competing with a slew of other content and online monitoring services, including from Nielsen Online BuzzMetrics on the high end and BuzzGain on the lower/open end. Filtrbox is trying to aim towards the lower end of the market.
