Online Video Ad Network Tremor Media Secures $11 Million Second Round
Online video ad network, Tremor Media is announcing today an $11 million second round led by previous investors Canaan Partners and Masthead Venture Partners. Both backers led Tremor’s $8.64 million first round, which closed in Sept. 2006. The proceeds will go towards creating new products as Tremor seeks to broaden its ad sales, publisher and technology development staff. The New York City-based company claims 92 million unique monthly users across the roughly 800 web publishers in its network. Tremor has stepped up hiring in recent months and has also sought out partners. In September, the company began working with ExpoTV, the self-described “videopinions” site, on turning user-generated reviews into visual testimonials for marketers. Tremor then works on targeting those ads to users.
