Online video travel guide TVTrip has raised $4.8 million from Balderton Capital and Partech International. The company, which is based in both Paris and Brussels, appears similar to another European tourism site, online video hotel guide Trivop, which raised $800,000 in angel funding, as we reported last month. TVTrip launched in May and covers 10 European cities, including London, Paris, Madrid, Rome and Berlin. The company plans to use the funding to promote further international rollout of its services. It’s currently preparing to add Lisbon, Prague and Venice to its portfolio. By the end of the year, TVTrip expects to cover over 1,500 hotels in Europe. TVTrip is headed by former VP for Expedia Europe, Marc Ruff, who brought along three other executives from the travel information company.
