Outdoor Channel Buys Firearms Portal Down Range TV
Outdoor Channel has acquired firearms and shooting sports portal Down Range TV (DRTV); financial terms were not disclosed. Founded in 2006 by firearm enthusiasts Marshal Holloway and Michael Bane (also a journalist), the site combines industry news, forums, podcasts and video content (including coverage of competitive shooting events, interviews with gunsmiths and user uploads).
Temecula, Calif.-based Outdoor Channel is carried by cable and satellite providers, with HD, VOD and online content around sports like hunting, fishing, shooting and offroading. It is a subsidiary of Outdoor Channel Holdings, Inc. Release.
