Overlay.TV Raises C$4.6 Million First Round For Video Ads
Overlay.TV, an Ottawa, Canada-based online video ad provider, has raised a C$4.6 million (US$4.53 Million) first round led by Celtic House Venture Partners, EdgeStone Capital Partners and Tech Capital Partners. The company offers a platform to put a contextually relevant, interactive overlay on online videos. It claims to be a user-friendly alternative to other video ad models, such as pre-roll. Per an example given by the company, a clothing retailer could put up a video of a fashion show, with buttons over each item taking the user to a page where the can be purchased. There’s also a consumer side, allowing users to put social information in their own videos. Release.

I would like to see how this compares with videoegg or revver and how the social consumer side intergrates with this.
