Perfect Market Raises $15 Million First Round For Archive Monetization

Perfect Market, an Idealab-incubated company offering publishers tools to monetize archival content, has raised a $15.6 million from Trinity Ventures, Rustic Canyon Partners, Square 1 Bank, and founding investor Idealab. The Pasadena, CA-based company says it offers publishers easy tools that require little upfront costs. SEO is a big part of the company’s strategy, and all of the company’s partners are search advertising providers. This notion of “lighting up” dark content for this way has been big for awhile—newspapers in particular have recognized the lost search revenue because their archive content has not been readily available.
