Personalized Music Video Startup Fliptrack Gets $1.5 Million Funding

Fliptrack, a Mountain View, CA-based personalized online music video company, has raised around $1.53 million in first round funding, led by Mohr, Davidow Ventures, reports PeHub. The company’s app provides a simple UI in which to mix a library of popular songs with images/video to create music mashups. The company’s service can be used to marketing music: for example, Barenaked Ladies is doing a promo offering one of their new songs to be developed into a personal music video. These song-videos can then be embedded into blogs and other social networking sites. Current labels taking part in Fliptrack offerings include
Tommyboy Records, Ministry of Sound, V2 Records and Nettwerk. Interesting management and board.

Muvee, a company out of Singapore, has been doing this for at least 4 years - online, via mobile, and as prepackaged software
