Philly.com Joins Yahoo Newspaper Consortium For News Distribution, Paid Search, Non-Jobs Advertising

Once Eric Grilly moved to the Philadelphia Newspapers a deal of sort with the Yahoo Newspaper Consortium (Nasdaq: YHOO) was sure to follow. Grilly, president of Philly.com, was a key architect of the consortium when he was president and CEO of MediaNews Group Interactive. The consortium started with Yahoo HotJobs—not something Philly.com can do since it already has an online jobs deal with Monster.com. But Philly.com can take part in the consortium’s expanded activities, including local news distribution, paid search, display ad technology and shared local-national ad sales. Release.
