Industry Moves: Playdom Hires Away Zynga, EA Execs
Money isn’t the only thing flowing into the social gaming business—these app-based startups continue to attract new talent. The latest social gaming firm making new hires is Playdom, which has added 23 new employees over the past two months, including EA vets Dave Rohrl and Sean Clark. The two execs will head up Playdom’s new “studios” as executive producers.

Rohrl will oversee Playdom’s studio for “new intellectual property”; formerly director of game design at rival Zynga, he also held senior production and design roles at PopCap, EA (in its Pogo casual games division), and the Learning Company. Clark will oversee the startup’s new role-playing game (RPG) unit; he joins from EA, where he served as studio director for new platforms at Pogo. Before EA, Clark spent 14 years at Star Wars studio LucasArts.
