Professional Social Network Brazen Careerist Raises About $1 Million
Brazen Careerist, a social networking site geared towards “next-generation professionals,” has raised about $1 million in a funding round, according to an SEC filing. As the name implies, no fun and games on this site. Instead, it’s specifically designed to help young people advance in their professions—a role that the company contends Facebook and LinkedIn are not fulfilling for Gen Yers. Members create profiles complete with resumes and then share “ideas” (i.e. updates). It’s all supposedly accessible to recruiters, reporters looking for expert opinions and entrepreneurs seeking collaborators.
I reached out to the company Monday to get details about the funding round but never heard back. The filing does list Alice.com and Jellyfish.com co-founder Brian Wiegan as a director.
