The introduction of “real-time” results from social networking sites to all three of the major search engines hasn’t gotten in the way of Collecta‘s efforts to raise cash. The startup—which launched a year ago with the promise of delivering results from sources like YouTube, Twitter and Flickr on its site several seconds ahead of competitors—has raised $4.7 million in a new round of funding.

Collecta’s strategy has shifted as the major players have entered the market; earlier this year, the company released a widget that lets any third-party site add real-time results related to a specific search-term. Collecta has said the widgets have “taken off” and in its release it says it will use the new cash in part to add content distribution partnerships.

The funding round was led by Dace Ventures. Existing backers, including True Ventures, which had already put $2 million into the company, also participated.
