Real-Time Searcher Scoopler Raises Seed Round From Ron Conway, Others
No wonder serial investor Ron Conway talked up Scoopler during his panel at the 140Conf last week—he’s an investor in the real-time search startup. Scoopler co-founder A.J. Asver tells VentureWire (subs req) that the startup raised between $500,000 and $1 million in this angel round. Conway, Bebo co-founder Michael Birch, Avalon Ventures and XG Ventures all participated in the funding, which was first reported by TechCrunch; Scoopler was backed by Y Combinator last year.

S.F.-based Scoopler launched in May; it pulls in data from Twitter, Digg, Delicious and various blogs, and users can drill down to search by specific categories, as well as save previous searches. Recently funded rivals include OneRiot, Collecta and Topsy. The startup plans to add real-time video clips and personalization tools to help differentiate itself.
