Retrevo Gets $8 Million Second Round For Electronics Product Search
Sunnyvale, CA-based Retrevo, a consumer electronics search site, has raised an $8 million second round from Alloy Ventures and Norwest Venture Partners. The company has raised over $4 million, for a total of more than $12 million. Retrevo describes itself as a “matchmaking service” for consumers and the products they seek to find. The service rates products using its own metrics related to quality and cost, presenting a more sophisticated view than the typical list-based results of a comparison shopping engine. Last year, the company said it had “hundreds of thousands” of users and it claims to have quadrupled its base in the last year, but it offers no hard numbers.
