San Diego-based RoyaltyShare, which makes software the music industry uses to track royalty payments it is owed, has acquired Musicalc, a British developer of music royalty accounting software for an undisclosed amount. Musicalc’s clients includes indie labels like Matador and IRS in the U.S., but RoyaltyShare said the acquisition will immediately give it access to Musicalc’s European client base, too, including the likes of Beggars Group, Minder Music and Skint. It means RoyaltyShare gets more services to offer record labels.  Chris Palmer, founder and managing director,  and Asa Palmer, marketing director of Surrey-based Musicalc, which has been going 25 years, will join RoyaltyShare in new roles—respectively director of product management for Europe and director of client services for Europe/GM, Musicalc.
