Skype Founders Invest In Casual, Mobile Gaming Firm Zattikka

Zattikka, the casual and mobile gaming company founded by Virgin Interactive vet Tim Chaney, has raised a seed round of funding led by Atomico Ventures. Atomico Ventures is the early stage VC firm created by Skype founders Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom. The amount of the funding was not disclosed. Atomico counts companies like Last.fm, DECA and Technorati in its portfolio.

Zattikka launched this year, and acquired games portal and developer gimme5games in early September. The U.K.-based company plans more acquisitions to help grow its network of mobile and iPhone developer studios, as well as launch a number of casual games sites. Release.
