Naspers, the South African media giant, has offered to buy Polish IM service Gadu Gadu, for a total of about $155 million. GG is listed on the Warsaw stock exchange, and Naspers will launch a public offer to buy the shares…the company said GG’s majority shareholder had given an irrevocable commitment to tender its 55 percent stake.

GG was established in 2000 and has over six million users with a 43 percent share of the Polish IM market. The company also operates one of the leading social community portals in the country, mojageneracja.pl, with approximately 1.6 million unique users.  More in the release.
