Mexican media conglomerate Grupo Televisa has confirmed its intention to sell its shares in the U.S. Spanish-language broadcaster Univision, after Univision’s new owners named the company’s next CEO.
Several lawsuits are pending between Univision and Televisa, one over Internet distribution rights and the other over a program license agreement….this might mean Televisa will go ahead with its plans to webcast its shows directly in U.S.
WSJ: Meanwhile, Univision has tapped Joe Uva, president and CEO of Omnicom’s OMD Worldwide, to be Univision’s new CEO following completion of the pending acquisition.
