Tribune, McClatchy Sell Content Licensing And Distribution Service Newscom

Tribune’s syndication unit Tribune Media Services and McClatchy have sold the content licensing and distribution service Newscom to content solutions provider Mainstream Data. Newscom was a 50/50 JV between the two newspaper companies, and was founded in 1985. Financial terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed.

Newscom will continue to operate as a separate unit out of Washington DC. Mainstream Data is based in Salt Lake City and was founded in 2001. More details in the release.
