Video Ad Network BrightRoll Raises $5 Million Second Round
San Francisco-based BrightRoll, an online video ad network, has raised a $5 million second round from True Ventures and Adams Street Partners, reports PE Hub, citing SEC filings. The company raised an unspecified first round last November from True Ventures, along with several angels. Since its first funding, a number of companies in the space have raised money, including YuMe and Podaddies. Like the competition, Brightroll offers a variety of ad formats that work across multiple video platforms.

I like these next generation ad networks. But I don’t see what differentiates one from another. For example, how is Brightroll different from YuMe (http://www.yumenetworks.com) or NeoEdge Networks (http://www.neoedge.com - video ad network for video games).
But one billion ads in their first year sounds quite promising. Does anyone know what kind of CPMs they’re getting?
