Video Marketer SplashCast Raises $4 Million First Round

Portland, OR-based SplashCast Media, a provider of marketing on social networks, has raised a $4 million first round led by investor Mark Bayliss, along with Emergent. The company had previously raised $2 million in seed funding, from various investors including poker player Phil Hellmuth. The video-heavy company offers brands a way to port their content onto the various social networks. It claims to reach 8.5 million unique users each month, while Sony/BMG, Universal Music, MTV, AEG, and PBS are among its clients. CEO Michael Berkley was previously the CEO of e-learning company QMIND. Release.
