Online video network HealthiNation has raised $7.5 million in a second round of funding led by Intel Capital and existing backer MK Capital. The New York-based company plans to use the proceeds for general expansion plans, CEO Raj Amin told paidContent. The company secured a first round of $4.2 million in September 2006, he added.

The funding comes as HealthiNation has laid the groundwork for a handful of new partnerships it’s announcing in conjunction with its new investment. The company has struck deals to run its videos—which cover roughly three dozen areas including sleep apnea, diabetes and cholesterol—on the online properties belonging to newspaper publisher Lee Enterprises and Parade magazine, as well as About.com’s UCompareHealthcare.com, women’s health site Lifescript.com and self-help focused Guideposts Magazine. Two-year-old HealthiNation has existing deals with Yahoo and Answers.com, and it also runs a VOD channel on the Comcast, Verizon, Cox and Charter systems.
