Video: Google’s Mayer Shows Off ‘Social Search’

Coming next to Google (NSDQ: GOOG) search: A “social search” feature, which plays up content written by friends when users make a query on the search engine (An example: Search for ‘New Zealand’ and see blog posts written by friends about the country on the first page of results, in addition to the list of standard entries). At the Web 2.0 conference, Google VP Marissa Mayer (pictured) announced that the company would include real-time Tweets in its search results—and also demonstrated the “social search” feature, which will launch in the next few weeks in Google Labs.
