WebMD Looks Healthy, As Profits, Revenues Rise Double Digits

WebMD’s profits and revenues were up 18.7 percent and 15 percent, respectively, in Q3, as the company was once again able to weather the economic downturn relatively unscathed. It was helped by selling off one of its weaker spots, WebMD’s print directory business, Little Blue Book, at the end of September. The only lackluster part of the results came in its private portal services. The segment was flat, with $22.2 million in revenues. On the other end, though, WebMD’s public portal ad and sponsorship revenue was up 20 percent to $89.4 million.
