Widget Maker Gydget Raises First Funding Round
SF-based Gydget, a maker of social networking widgets, has raised an unspecified first round from SunBridge Partners and unidentified angel investors. The company helps entertainers, from sports teams to musicians, build widgets that fans can place on their social networking pages or blogs. Those who have used Gydget include The Beastie Boys and The Oakland Raiders. It plans to use the funding to develop its product across all social networking platforms. Founder and CEO Gerardo Capiel co-founded and served as CTO at Digital Impact, a digital marketing firm acquired by Acxiom. Release.
