Short Film Distributor Cinelan Launches, Gets Funding From Arts Alliance

We missed this one earlier this month: Cinelan, a new New York City-based company hosting a library of professionally produced three-minute nonfiction short films, launched at the Berlin International Film Festival, reports the Hollywood Reporter. The company, founded by filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, branding guru David Wales and Arts Alliance managing partner Thomas Hoegh, also raised funding from London-based Arts Alliance, according to Variety. Calling itself a film content publisher, Cinelan will syndicate films both on and offline through internet media partners, digital cinemas, TV and mobile devices. Its syndication partners include Guardian News & Media, Arts Alliance’s Vizumi Network and indie UK exhibitor chain Picturehouse Cinemas.
