Xpanity Raises $1.5 Million For Co-Browsing

A number of startups have pushed the notion of social or group browsing—basically the idea of chatting with other people that are looking at the same page. So far it doesn’t seem to have taken hold in mass. The latest is Xpanity, an Israeli company that’s raised $1.5 million from its founders and unidentified angels, according to Alarm:Clock. Meebo has gotten into this area as well, offering chat widgets that can be embedded on any page. Apparently the company hopes to make money by using user behavior for sophisticated ad targeting.
