So say our sources…all the VPs and above have been summoned to meet CEO Jerry Yang on Friday. “Check laptops and blackberries at the door,” says that message. Wondering why? Here’s a hint. Updated: Turns out this is not just for SM office VPs, but VPs and up across the company; about 300 in all.
Also, the company has announced some vague changes to its entertainment properties, as we wrote about it first two days ago. It is merging its entertainment properties into one division, it says. “We’ll creating more synergies between our music, games, movies, TV, and omg! properties, making them more personal and engaging for entertainment hounds.”

Instead, it will be “investing in the development of next gen media platforms, applications and services, creating cool new opportunities for third-party publishers and media companies while also harnessing the power of social media and user-generated content. For instance, consider the Yahoo! (NSDQ: YHOO) Music Video application on Facebook.”
