After Downplaying It For Three Years, Yahoo Closes MyWeb Service

imageYahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) is shutting down its MyWeb bookmark sharing and storage service in March, after nearly four years, the company said in post on its official search blog (via CNET). MyWeb’s closing is tied to Yahoo’s plans to streamline its bookmarking services, such as the recent 2.0 release of Delicious, which Yahoo bought in 2005, and the upgraded Yahoo! Bookmarks. As CNET noted, the surprising thing is why Yahoo waited so long to pull the plug, since it had been pushing its other bookmarking tools for the past three years.
